Working toward a Bright & Peaceful Future

This year has become an historic one! There is fear and hope, anxiety and excitement in the air.

We will focus our attention in Jamie's Joy this year on Peace and Hope. The organization we have chosen to give to is the Tariq Khamisa Foundation. Please visit their website TKF.org to see some of the amazing things they are doing. We have been incredibly touched by the story behind TKF. Since 1996, Azim Khamisa and Ples Felix have worked tirelessly to end violence among our nation's youth. We're sure Jamie would have been quite impressed by the fierce forgiveness out of which these men have molded their lives.

Remember, the Jamie's Joy Fund is established through the San Diego Foundation. One Hundred Percent of your donations to Jamie's Joy Fund go into the pot at SDF. Each year, we decide on a worthy organization (or two or three) to which we donate the collected money. These donations are completely tax deductible since the San Diego Foundation is a non-profit organization. Last year we dipped below the cushion we need to keep in the Fund, so this year we are focusing on building that back up through many events (please see  Thirteenth Birthday Events on the New section of Jamie's Joy) We know that some of you are struggling financially at this time, and we are more grateful than ever for your generous donations to Jamie's Joy.
